What to Expect at JoAnn Francis Medical Esthetics in West Palm Beach, FL

Integrative Anti-Aging & Wellness Center

At the JoAnn Francis Medical Esthetic, we practice Integrative and Anti-Aging Medicine. This type of practice is extremely different than what most people have experienced in other physician offices. No more waiting hours to be seen by the doctor, only to have about 10 minutes to discuss with your doctor all of your concerns only to have the physician throw 2 prescriptions at you because your cholesterol is high. This is not the way healthcare should be delivered, nor will you get that type of experience at the Joann Francis Medical Esthetic Institute. We aim to provide a VIP experience ensuring to address all of your health, medical, and lifestyle concerns. We do so in a calm, tranquil, and soothing environment with no sense of urgency. We not only want to help you medically, but we want to learn about you and become your friends. We strive to connect with our patients and their families and friends. Below is a brief description of what to expect in working with our office.

Here, our sole focus is one you and listening to what you have to say. In fact, one of the founding fathers of modern Medicine, Sir William Osler, once said, ” If you listen to the patient, they will tell you the diagnosis”. Meaning that no test or scan can be as important as asking the right questions and delving deep into learning about the uniqueness of your body. This is why conversation and sufficient time is critical in order to understand you and your body the best.

We would love to help you become healthier regardless if you live down the road or in another country. We have had the privilege and continue to help people all over the world, and have procedures and capabilities that allow us to help you become your best no matter where you live.

For Our Local Patients (within a 2 hour drive)
The initial visit is very comprehensive and detailed oriented. You can expect to spend anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes with us depending on your situation, assessment and goals. During this time we take a very detailed history, including things about your medical, social, family life as well dietary intake, physical activity, and much much more. You then have a comprehensive physical exam all along having a chance to consult, interact, and ask questions to one of the most world renowned personable and knowledgeable Integrative and Anti-Aging medical staff’s. After the comprehensive consultation, the medical team assesses your health, keeping in mind your goals, and investigation into your health continues on with diagnostic assessments, most of which can be conducted in our office. At this initial assessment, potential treatment options and life styling counseling takes place ensuring your commencement towards improving your health and well being. Once the results of any diagnostic assessments arrive at our office, we then schedule a time for you to come back in to our facility or schedule a tele or video conference to discuss all results and what we feel would be the most appropriate treatment options. This first follow up visit, you can also expect to spend anywhere from 20-60 minutes with us. This allotted time ensures we can have a comprehensive discussion with you about your results and identify critical areas that we will want to focus on improving for you and your health. We like to take the time to explain your results and help educate you on your results and why certain things may be better for you. The more you know, the better informed you can be and make appropriate decisions, and even help others. Following this discussion, if more extensive treatments are mutually agreed upon to be best for you, they may be implemented at this time. Depending on the treatments discussed and or implemented, appropriate follow up and monitoring must take place in anywhere from 4-12 weeks from treatment initiation date. From here on out, follow up and monitoring is at the discretion of the medical staff based on the way you feel, improvements you are making and the necessity to diagnostically assess certain parameters.

For Our Distant Patients (greater than a 2 hour drive)
For those individuals that live greater than 2 hours from our office, in order to optimize the time we have with each other at our first office consultation, we like to arrange a 20-30 minute phone consultation where pertinent information including, medical, family, social histories, and why you are wanting to be seen at our office is discussed. This information is then given to the medical team, and depending on what goals you have, diagnostic assessment may be warranted before you are seen in our office. If any diagnostic testing is required by our staff before your first in office consultation, then appropriate arrangements will be made. Once we receive any necessary information, we like to schedule our first consultation, either in office or via tele/video conferencing. This initial conference is what establishes you as a patient at our office, and allows us to give medical advice. In the United States, there are certain medical legal constraints that are placed on medical centers in regards to their patients. As a non-local patient we will do our best to aid you in anyway we can as long as it is in line and complies within the medical legal law of the United States.

To All Of Our Patients
We ask that you bring any information, lab results, tests, and additional records or information that you feel would be pertinent to your visit and for us to review. The more we can learn about you and your body, the more helpful it will be for our team to get you feeling better. Everyones body is unique, and certain treatments will vary from person to person, it is for this reason that all treatment regiments are highly individualized based on your body and your goals. In the United States, it is illegal for any medical facility to give specific medical advice to anyone that is not under the care/management or an established patient of that facility. Unfortunately, that means we are unable to give any medical advice to anyone that is not an established patient at our wellness center. For an individual to become an established patient of the office and allow for the giving of medical advice, they must conduct either an initial office visit (local patients) or comprehensive tele or video consultation (non-local patients). It is also this medical legal constraint that prohibits us from utilizing any controlled substance and or pharmaceutical from anyone that has not been physically seen in our office.

The field of Integrative and Anti-Aging medicine is one where we work with you, not for you to help you look, feel, and become the best you possible. This is a process that is completely dependent on both yourself and our office to work synergistically. Many of the treatments that we utilize require more consistent monitoring in order to ensure responsiveness and success. It is for this reason that we have established certain monitoring parameters for our patients. We want to ensure that we are helping your body inside and out, that progression is being made, and what we are doing for you is safe, effective, and whats best for you. In order to ensure that, we need to have frequent discussions and periodic diagnostic assessments. In order to optimize success and ensure overall wellness, there needs to be a commitment from us to you, and from you to us. Please be sure to read over our monitoring requirements and commitment pages. In order to ensure continuity of care for our patents, medically legally we are required to have you physically assessed in our office once every calendar year. Please see the appropriate patient monitoring/commitment sections for a more thorough explanation. Please don’t hesitate to call or office with any questions or for clarification.
